Uses of Calutide Tablets
Calutide is used in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer that has spread to other areas of the body. It is prescribed in combination with LHRH analogue therapy.

Dosage
Take once a day one tablet of Calutide at the same time each day either in the morning or evening. Take it with or without food. Take it regularly to get the most benefit from it.

Calutide is an non-steroidal anti-androgen.
It works works by blocking the action of male hormones in the prostate, it slows growth of the tumors.
Missed Dose
Take the dose as soon as you remember. Do not double dose.

Warnings and Precautions
Calutide is contraindicated in any patient who has shown a hypersensitivity reaction to Bicalutamide or any of the inactive components. Hypersensitivity reactions including angioneurotic edema and urticaria have been reported. Hepatitis or marked increases in liver enzymes leading to discontinuation of Bicalutamide therapy occurred in approximately 1% of patients in clinical trials. Calutide Tablets should not be taken by women and children.
Calutide should not be handled by women who are or may become pregnant, it can cause harm to the fetus.
Do not use Calutide together with other medicine which contains terfenadine, astemizole or cisapride.
Before starting to use Calutide tell your doctor, if you have a medical history of liver disease, diabetes, lung/breathing problems.
Caution has to be exercised, if Calutide is taken together with compounds such as cyclosporine, calcium channel blockers and other drugs
which may inhibit drug oxidation e.g. cimetidine and ketoconazole.
Periodic liver function testing should be considered due to the possibility of hepatic changes.
