What Is Indomethacin Used For:
Indomethacin is used for treating moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It is used to treat gout or certain types of bursitis and tendonitis. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Indomethacin Capsules – Dosage
Use Indomethacin as directed by your doctor. The recommended adult dosage of Indomethacin Capsules to treat Moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis; moderate to severe ankylosing spondylitis and moderate to severe osteoarthritis is 25 mg twice a day. In case this dosage is well tolerated, the daily dosage may be increased by 25 or by 50 mg, if required by continuing symptoms, at weekly intervals until a satisfactory response is obtained or until a total daily dose of 150mg to 200 mg is reached.
- Take Indomethacin Capsules by mouth with food. This may not lower the risk of stomach or bowel problems (eg, bleeding, ulcers). Talk with your doctor if you have persistent stomach upset.
- Take Indomethacin with a full glass of water (8 oz/240 mL) as directed by your doctor.

Side Effects of Indomethacin Capsules

- constipation; diarrhea; dizziness; gas; headache; heartburn; nausea; stomach upset.
Seek medical attention right away if any of these severe side effects occur:

- Indomethacin should be used with extreme caution in children younger than 14 years old; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.
- Indomethacin may cause harm to the fetus. Do not use it during the last 3 months of pregnancy. If you think you may be pregnant, contact your doctor.
