Glycolic acid has an excellent capability to penetrate skin and finds applications in skin care products. Glycolic acid is used to improve the skin’s appearance and texture. It acts by inhibiting the production of free tyrosinase which is an essential enzyme in the biosynthesis of the skin pigment melanin.
