Dosage and Administration
Below is the dosage schedule for Champix.
Days 1 – 3: 0.5 mg once daily
Days 4 – 7: 0.5 mg twice daily
Day 8 – End of treatment (for another 11 weeks): 1 mg twice daily
You are advised to take the full course of Champix Tablets for 12 weeks.
Champix must be taken exactly as directed for it to work well. Do not stop taking it unless instructed by your doctor. You may feel unwell if Varencline is stopped suddenly.
Set a target date to stop smoking. Start Champix 1 – 2 weeks before the target date. During this 1 – 2 weeks, you may continue smoking. However, ensure that you stop smoking on the target date.
