The active pharmaceutical ingredient present in Bicalutamide Tablets is Bicalutamide. Each film-coated tablet of Calutide contains 50 mg of Bicalutamide .
Uses of Bicalutamide
Bicalutamide Tablets are used in the treatment of prostate cancer that has spread to other areas of the body. It is prescribed in combination with hormone treatment.
Bicalutamide is used also as monotherapy for early stages of prostate cancer.
Dosage
Take once a day one tablet of Bicalutamide in the morning or evening – always at the same time. Take it with or without food. Take it regularly to get the most benefit from it.
Drug Class and Mechanism
Bicalutamide is an non-steroidal anti-androgen.
Bicalutamide works by blocking the action of male hormones in the prostate, it slows growth of the tumors.
Missed Dose

Caution has to be exercised, if Bicalutamide is taken together with compounds such as cyclosporine, calcium channel blockers and other drugs
which may inhibit drug oxidation e.g. cimetidine and ketoconazole.
Periodic liver function testing should be considered due to the possibility of
hepatic changes.
