Asthalin Tablets (Albuterol Tablets)- Product Information
The active ingredient present in Asthalin tablets is  Albuterol Sulfate (Salbutamol Sulphate) which belongs to the group of medicines   known as  short acting  beta2–adrenergic agonist. Asthalin Tablets are  used  for the treatment of bronchospasm in asthma, chronic bronchitis,  emphysema and other conditions associated with airways obstruction,  for prevention of asthma attack triggered by allergic exposure or exercise and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.  Albuterol Sulphate opens up the breathing tubes in your lungs, thus making breathing easier. Each  tablet contains Salbutamol Sulphate IP equivalent to Salbutamol IP 2 mg and 4 mg  respectively.

Dosage
The recommended dosage for Asthalin tablets is given below:
  Adults: 
 2-4 mg, three or four times daily. 
 Children (7-12 years): 
 2 mg, three or four times daily. 
 Children (2-6 years): 
 1-2 mg, three or four times daily. 
Storage Instructions
Store Asthalin Tablets between 39 and 86 degrees F (4 and 30 degrees C).  Keep tablets out of the reach of children and away from pets. 
  
Warnings and Precautions When Using Albuterol Tablets
Before using  Asthalin tablets (Albuterol Tablets)  please   inform your doctor all the medicines that you take including  no prescription medications, over the counter medicines  and  herbal remedies. Some of the warnings and precautions to be aware of  before using Albuterol Sulfate tablets include the following: Paradoxical bronchospasm may occur and should be treated immediately  with alternative therapy.  In case there is a  need for more doses  than usual of Albuterol Tablets, it  may be a sign of deterioration of asthma and  requires reevaluation of treatment. 
 Cardiovascular effects may occur with beta-adrenergic agonists use. Consider discontinuation of Salbutamol tablets if these effects occur. Use with caution in patients with underlying cardiovascular disorders. Immediate hypersensitivity reactions may occur in certain patients  with the  use of this medicine. Discontinue the medicine if immediate hypersensitivity reactions occur  and consider alternative treatment. 
  Since there  are no adequate and well-controlled studies of   albuterol sulfate in pregnant women, Albuterol Sulfate should be used during pregnancy only if  the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. 
  
Possible Side Effects of Asthalin Tablets
The most frequent side effects of Asthalin tablets (Salbutamol Sulphate) are nervousness, tremor, headache, tachycardia, and palpitations. Less frequent adverse reactions are muscle cramps, insomnia, nausea, weakness, dizziness, drowsiness, flushing, restlessness, irritability, chest discomfort
Contraindications
Asthalin tablets  are contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to albuterol or any other ingredients  present in this medication. Rare cases of hypersensitivity reactions, including urticaria, angioedema, and rash have been reported  after the use of albuterol tablets.  They  are also contraindicated in persons with pre-existing cardiac tachyarrhythmias. Although salbutamol tablets are used in the management of premature labour, they are contraindicated in antepartum haemorrhage or toxaemia of pregnancy. Immediate hypersensitivity reactions may occur after administration of Albuterol tablets as  illustrated  by rare cases of urticaria, angio-oedema, rash, bronchospasm, and oropharyngeal oedema.
  
Asthalin Tablets Overdose
The symptoms of Asthalin overdosage are similar to those of excessive beta-adrenergic stimulation and cause occurrence or exaggeration of any of the adverse effects namely seizures, angina, hypertension  or hypotension, tachycardia with rates up to 200 beats/min, arrhythmias, nervousness, headache, tremor, dry mouth, palpitation, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, malaise, sleeplessness.  Hypokalemia may also occur.
 Treatment consists of discontinuation of this medicine together with appropriate symptomatic therapy.
